Dedicated To Helping You And Your Child Receive Benefits

Does your child have a disabling illness or injury? You do not need someone to tell you that it requires significant time and resources. When you are dealing with increasing financial burdens, it can be overwhelming trying to get your child the help that he or she needs under the Supplemental Security Income program. It is important to remember that you are not alone. We are here to help.

Why should you hire a local representative? Personal attention, accessibility and an in-depth knowledge of local requirements. Schedule your first meeting by calling our New Albany or Madison office at 812-748-8140. We represent individuals throughout Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

Stephenson Disability Services helps parents navigate complicated Social Security rules and requirements to obtain SSI benefits for their children. We will walk you through the eligibility requirements and help you gather the necessary medical documentation.

Establishing Your Child’s Disability Requires Detailed Information

Children under the age of 18 with conditions such as ADHD, cerebral palsy, asthma, blindness or other serious physical and mental conditions may qualify for benefits, but a diagnosis alone is not sufficient. You must show in detail:

  • Financial eligibility: Your child cannot be working and earning more per month than the threshold determined by the Social Security Administration.
  • Disabling condition or combination of conditions that results in marked and severe functional limitations: You can establish how the disability severely limits your child’s activities through detailed information, including school records, medical records and opinions from qualified professionals.
  • Long-term disability: The disability must have lasted or is expected to last for a minimum of 12 months or will result in the child’s death.

Overwhelmed? Don’t Be. We’re Just A Free Phone Call Away.

If you are starting to feel stressed about the process, it is okay. We are here to answer your questions and help guide you along through the process so that you can obtain the necessary benefits for your child. We charge nothing unless benefits are awarded.
